Amazon Dash Button

The Amazon Dash Button is a small device with just one button. If you press this button one predefined product is delivered to you. It is powered by a battery so you can tape it to the place where you detect that your predefined product is running low. A press on the button only triggers a purchase if there isn’t already a new refill on the way, so you don’t have to worry if your partner pressed it already.

Positive scenario

Your washing powder is running low. You press the dash button next to it – and the shopping is done. Indeed a simple automation of this shopping task.

Negative scenario

Naturally, Dash users are bound to Amazon as a shop and its possibly changing prices. Additionally if you use the dash button for many things in your household your home is covered with small electrical devices – not the aesthetic everybody likes and source of many battery replacements efforts.
