As a reader of this blog you probably know Amazon’s device called Amazon Echo with its voice Alexa. You even own an Echo already, so I keep the description short. Amazon describes the device like this:
Amazon Echo is a hands-free speaker you control with your voice. Echo connects to the Alexa Voice Service, to play music, provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more—instantly. All you have to do is ask.
So the Amazon Echo does much more than just providing a way to place an order. However in this article I will focus on this aspect only.
You notice your washing powder runs low. As Alexa understands you also well from a distance, you simply tell Alexa to order new washing powder. In order to do so you need no hands nor do you need to go somewhere, you can simply continue to fill your dish washer.
If you just need to say what you would like to buy the barrier to shop is very low. This might lead to affective consumptions.
